    The Agenzia del Demanio (Italian State Property Agency) is a Public Economic Body that operates under the Ministry of Economy and Finance and is responsible for managing, rationalising and developing the State’s real estate property. The Agenzia del Demanio has 1,020 employees located across 16 territorial offices and its general directorate is based in Rome.

    Born in Harare, Zimbabwe, on September 2nd, 1961, married with three children, he got a Degree in Civil Engineering (109/110) at Padua University in 1985 and a Master with honors in Business Administration at Milan’s SDA Bocconi in 1989.

    From January 2007 to January 2011 he has been member of the Directoire of Foncière des Régions but his most recent charge is dated July 2011 when he was elected as the Chairman of Assoimmobiliare, Association of Italian Real Estate Industry. In addition, from 2010 he has been member of Board of Directors of EPRA, European Public Real Estate Association, and from 2009 he has been member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyor RICS.

    From 2001 he has been the CEO of Beni Stabili S.p.a. S.i.i.q. and member of the Board of Beni Stabili Gestioni S.p.a. Sgr, while from last January 2011 he has been Directeur Général Délégué of Foncière des Régions S.A.

    From 1990 to 1994 he has been General Manager of G. Pivato S.p.a. and from 1994 to 2001 CEO of C.F.I. S.p.a.

    Starting from 1991 he joined JPMorgan gaining extensive professional experience dealing with large European clients with respect to strategic and financial operations. In 1999, after having held various positions, he was appointed Managing Director in London, working until 2003 for major European Bank’s customers.

    In December 2003, he moved to Cassa Depositi e Prestiti S.p.A. where he held the position of Head of Finance until September 2009, afterwards from February 2009 he began to manage the Real Estate Business Unit.      Richard has extensive experience in the economic and investment analysis of commercial property markets, and of conducting consultancy studies for clients.


    In his current role at CBRE, he heads the Office and Industrial Markets team within EMEA Research.  His role is to oversee the analysis of these markets from occupier and investor perspectives, and to initiate and carry out research that supports and develops the business activities of the company and its clients.  In addition to regular market commentary and publications, Richard also conducts frequent client briefings and is involved in a range of consultancy projects.

    Richard has previously held research posts at the Royal Bank of Scotland, Weatherall Green and Smith and Prudential Portfolio Managers.  He holds postgraduate qualifications in Urban and Regional Planning (Glasgow University) and Property Investment (City University).

    After having obtained the University Degree, he started working as a Technical Manager with the Group of Construction Companies owned by his family. He currently owns the Construction Company IAB SpA.

    In 1988, he was elected Chairman of the Young Contractors Entrepreneurs of Rome (ACER), and, in 1990, Chairman of the National Committee of Young Contractors Entrepreneurs of ANCE.  

    From 1995 to 2001, he was Chairman of ACER. From 1995 to 2003, he was Member of the Board of Directors of Isveur SpA. From 1997 to 2000, he was ANCE’s Deputy Chairman for the Public Works sector.
